You should not apologize or feel embarrassed. The grass is not greener on the other side. You may find a pottery class empowering and restorative. It’s the fastest and most peaceful three hours I experience…. when time permits.
Totally get what you’re saying. I have the childhood trauma-based stuff that has always worked to suppress my voice and I do believe there is a physical component to that. Have done a ton of work there. Also face the reality of 4 surgeries through my neck for thyroid and cervical spine issues. This leaves scar tissue in its wake. You are the first one I’ve come across who tells of the daily struggles of being heard. Making sure you are facing the person. Having your voice run out of gas on a phone call. Trying to get through mah jong, where you need your voice. Truly not being able to trust my own voice takes away some of my self confidence. Thank you for helping me feel less alone.
Such bravery. You are never a chore. Impossibly too wonderful to pity but I do recognize how hard this is for you. with the voice that you do have, I hope you will always feel comfortable asking all the people that love you for help.
This is so vulnerable and tender. AND, your voice shines through your words on the page. That part is a gift, though I can only imagine the grief around losing your literal voice, even when you so clearly have much to say and many people who want to hear. For what ever it is worth, I'm always all ears, right here.
What a thoroughly beautiful expression of your unenviable frustration. I hear you!❤️
